About Osaka Travel Insider

Real food. Real streets. Real Osaka.

Osaka Travel Insider is a personal travel blog written by Woojin, dedicated to one city: Osaka, Japan. Not a glossy magazine spread, not a sponsored highlight reel — just honest, first-hand accounts of eating, exploring, and navigating one of Asia's most underrated food capitals.

Every post on this blog comes from an actual visit. Every price listed is what was paid. Every photo was taken on the street or in the restaurant, not sourced from a stock library.

What You'll Find Here

  • Restaurant reviews — from ¥500 rice bowls to hidden izakayas
  • Neighborhood guides — Namba, Shinsaibashi, Shinsekai, and beyond
  • Budget travel tips — how to eat and explore Osaka without overspending
  • Shopping guides — electronics, souvenirs, local finds

Why Osaka?

Osaka has a saying: kuidaore — "eat until you drop." This city takes food more seriously than almost anywhere else in the world. It's also genuinely affordable, genuinely welcoming, and genuinely underexplored compared to Tokyo or Kyoto. This blog exists because Osaka deserves better coverage.
